Again, that's not the point. It's not the fact that they get to make a massive amount of money, it's the principle of the whole thing. Normal players shouldn't be give unreleased items because they're in a guild with devs. If you bothered reading some of the thread, you'd know nobody is talking about them selling it.

The fact that the minipets HAVE been appearing in the hands of normal players, AGAINST the statement they IS THE MAIN POINT.

I'm guilty of mentioning the selling part. just for the fact that if he kept it under his hat like he was probably supposed to, none of us would have even known. that, and it would have been nice to be ahead of the race. it has nothing to do with wanting a phat stack of ectos/plats. ;-]

Can you HONESTLY say that those in ZoS are just normal users?, im willing to bet anyone there has put forward alot more effort and dedication towards GW than most. My point is you cant just waltz into ZoS.

And I wasn't talking about the money really, just the scale. Yes, Anet is technically showing slight favoritism, but are you going to go to bed and cry all night because you didn't get your mini a day or two early? It was a stupid move by Anet, but I hardly doubt its worth 9 pages of crying and whining over.

If anet wants to burn their playerbase yet again, let them. It's gonna bite them in the ass in the end.

Furthermore if they want to reward their devs, make sure the devs actually do their job well enough first. Ah the days when events didn't have bugs or glitches. When was the last time that happened? First wintersday event I believe.

Look at the above pictures, Gaile Gray is freakin friends with Wasabai. Of course he is going to get special treatment.

A couple of ZoS members had already posted pictures of the 3rd year minipets they got as well. And knowing WhiteWasabi, he would have been flaunting the minipet to anyone and everyone, so yeah, we would have found out. The fact that he got 175 ecto for a minipet that won't be worth 20k in a months time, is a joke.

If I had to guess on what actually happened:

All the devs probably received their 3rd year presents early, possibly by being the only ones whose /age wasn't reset after the last beta before release or something. Then, it's likely that one of the devs (possibly Andrew) gave Wasabi his mini because he didn't want it for whatever reason, or just wanted to give a gift. Wasabi didn't want it either, or saw an opportunity to make some quick cash and the rest is history.

I can see where this situation would be innocent enough, but would also be taken badly by most of the community simply because Wasabi is not a dev and he got something before everyone else out of favoritism.

If that is what really happened, I'm on the fence about the situation, but definitely outraged about this 'cover-up.' I think it's safe to assume that everything Regina said on her talk page is rubbish, whether she came up with it on her own or was told to say it. Even if what she said was true, I'd like to know why there's some kind of random chance some beta players would get early b-day presents, while others didn't. It doesn't add up; therefore rubbish.

You know nothing about minipets.

Wasabai is going to HUNDREDS of additional ectos for having his minipet early.

Again this isn't point. The point is Andrew/Gaile are misusing their GM powers. It is highly unlikely only ZoS members would be getting 3rd year minis.

Yes, you cant just waltz int ZoS. And their members have probably put in a lot of effort and dedication into the game. The thing that i'm annoyed over is that:

they made a statement, and yet turn around and do something opposite to that.

Its like your internet provider gareunteeing (spelling anyone?) that there will be no downtime, and then your internet goes down and its not your wires/PC/networking.

Or its like your government promising to lower the tax rate, and then only lowering it for certain people. Or not lowering it at all.

They are a professional company/group of people. This type of miscommunication shouldnt happen. And if it does, it should be addressed quickly and fixed in a mature and proper manner. And i'm waiting for it to be addressed, which hasn't happened yet for
